Position: APTA Board
Please read the following and sign to indicate your agreement to serve as a volunteer elected member of the Board of Directors for APTA.
General Expectations
I agree to:
- Adhere to the APTA Code of Ethics
- Interact in a professional, respectful, and cooperative manner with others
- Fulfill my duties and responsibilities in a timely fashion
- Inform the President and/or Vice-President if at any time I find it difficult or impossible to fulfill my duties and responsibilities
- Regularly communicate with the appropriate people
- Ask for help when I need it and seek out advice or assistance when problems or difficult situations arise
- Be responsible to ask for clarity whenever expectations are unclear
Reasons for Termination
By my signature below, I indicate that I have read, understand and agree to the following list that includes, but is not limited to, reasons that a member may be terminated from the Board.
- Failure to maintain APTA membership
- Failure to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Unprofessional, disrespectful, or uncooperative, sabotaging behavior
- When it is determined by the Board of Directors that the member is unable or unwilling to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position
- After due process, to be found in breach of the APTA Code of Ethics
In general: Board Members are expected to participate on monthly conference calls, regular on-going e-mail discussions, to attend in-person board meetings, to serve as a Board Liaison to committee(s), to create and follow-through with APTA projects related to the APTA Strategic Plan, to carry-out the duties of their office, if elected as an officer of the Board of Directors.
