Polarity Nutrition Recipe: POMEGRANATE CHIA SMOOTHIE

An unexpectedly tasty cooling drink.

Time: Minimum of 1 hour soak to maximum of overnight for soaking
plus 5 minutes
Makes 1 ½ cups
Purifying, Health Building, and Vegetarian

¾ cup organic pomegranate juice
1 Tablespoon chia seeds

¼ cup organic grapefruit juice
½ cup whole red or purple grapes
OR ½ ripe banana
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom

Soak the pomegranate juice and the chia seeds together overnight or for a minimum of one hour. Blend with the rest of the ingredients until smooth. Enjoy!

For additional fat, add 1 Tablespoon organic coconut oil.

For more protein, soak an additional 1 Tablespoon hemp seeds with the chia seeds.

Effects: neutral for all doshas.

Supports: plasma, blood cells (especially with the grapes), energizing!, heart, reproductive tissue.

VARIATION:  Skip the banana, and add 1 Tablespoon aloe vera juice to deepen the rejuvenation and cleansing actions. Thanks to Manon Pierme for the aloe vera inspiration.
